Age Restrictions

Spring Awakening is an 18+ festival. You MUST be 18 on the date of the event for entry.

Everyone will be required to show a government issued ID upon entry. VIP Section is 21+ only.

Drivers licenses, Passports, and legal government-issued IDs will be accepted. IDs must contain both a photo and your date of birth. Temporary paper government-issued IDs that match these guidelines will be accepted.

Friday, June 9, 2017 – Doors at 1:00 PM, ends at 10PM
Saturday, June 10, 2017 – Doors at 1:00 PM, ends at 10PM
Sunday, June 11, 2017 – Doors at 1:00 PM, ends at 10PM

Re-Entry Policy

There will be NO RE-ENTRY into Spring Awakening Music Festival. Your wristband will only scan for entry once per day.


There will be ATMs on the festival grounds, credit cards will also be accepted at all bar locations and many food vending locations.


Parking is extremely limited and not encouraged. If you park in the neighborhood to attend the event you will be ticketed and towed by Police.

We strongly encourage festival goers take public transit to & from Spring Awakening! Find out more information about getting to the festival on our LOCATION page.

Official SAMF Parking Lot will be announced soon! Space is limited.


Tickets are sold through We are not responsible for secondary ticket sellers, so we advise purchasing only through See Tickets. We are not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. For more information on General Admission tickets and VIP tickets, as well as purchasing your tickets, please head to the Buy Tickets Page.

Wristbands will be mailed out starting May 15. Your wristbands will be delivered via USPS First-Call mail. You will receive an email with your tracking number when your order has been shipped.

Lineup Subject to Change. All Sales are final.  Rain or Shine, but if a storm approaches with dangerous conditions such as high winds, thunder, lightning, tornado, etc., your safety is our priority and we will take necessary precautions with no refunds.

Alcoholic Beverages

Alcoholic beverages will be served to those with government issued photo IDs. You must present your ID to a festival employee to get a 21+ wristband.


If you’re from Chicago, you understand this weather. Spring Awakening Music Festival will take place, rain or shine, but if a storm approaches with dangerous conditions such as high winds, thunder, lightning, tornado, etc., your safety is our priority and we will take necessary precautions with no refunds. All advertised artists are confirmed to perform,  but sometimes the weather does not permit travel to Chicago. In this instance, acts are subject to change without notice. Entry & Security

Everyone entering the festival grounds will be searched upon entry. You will need to empty your pockets, and have all your items examined. If you have a backpack or purse, security will examine that as well. Narcotics officers will be working inside and outside of the festival grounds. All narcotic laws will be strictly enforced.  We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone.

These Items are Prohibited

Alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia, Large bags over normal school backpack size (21″tall x 14″ wide x 10″ deep), Large chains, Massagers, Laser pointers, glowsticks, LED gloves, Spiked jewelry, Native American Headdresses, Outside food or beverages, Open or refillable E-Cigs or vaporizers, coolers, lawnchairs, tents, Frisbees, large umbrellas, unsealed tampons, stickers, poi instruments, stuffed animals/dolls, professional cameras, audio/video recording equipment, open cigarette packs, any illegal substance, marker pens, unauthorized solicitations, sampling or flyers of any kind, masks of any kind, musical instruments including whistles, cans/bottles/glass, animals (except service animals with proper documents), pacifiers, spray paint or aerosol cans of any kind, weapons of any kind, unsealed eye drop containers, opened over the counter medications, opened bottle of vitamins, unsealed/opened tampons, any other items deemed as posing a threat to the safe enjoyment of the concert by management, and bad attitudes.

These Items are Allowed

Sealed cigarette packs, Digital phone, point and shoot cameras, GoPros, disposable cameras, fanny packs, empty camelbaks (you will be required to remove the pouch for inspection prior to entry), purses, European carry-alls, an average school-sized backpacks smaller than 21″tall x 14″ wide x 10″ deep, blankets, hoolahoops, flags, sunglasses, hats, lighters, sun block, lip gloss, binoculars, and positive attitudes. Please keep in mind the more stuff you bring, the longer everyone will wait in line.

Shoes may be taken off for search and ALL items and bags will be searched upon entry.

Totem Guidelines

Totems are allowed at Spring Awakening, but please read through our guidelines carefully to make sure it can enter the festival with you!

  1. Totem Guidelines
    1. Totems must be made from a lightweight material such as PVC, light wood, or aluminum poles
    2. Totems must be no thicker than 1’’ in diameter
    3. Decorated pool noodles are ideal for easy entrance through security
    4. Any item deemed dangerous will not be allowed

***Spring Awakening reserves the right to refuse entry to any totem not within guidelines***

Zero Tolerance for Drug Use And/Or Possession

Possessing or using any illegal substances outside or inside of the venue will not be tolerated. Narcotics officers, security, and staff will be working in and around the venue enforcing all drug-related laws. Violators in possession of illegal substances will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If you appear to be intoxicated at the entrance of the festival, security will not allow you to enter the venue. Event personal reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone.

Please come with good vibes and be prepared to have an unforgettable experience.

Every attendee, including members of the media, vendors, and guests, must be prepared to be searched prior to entering the event. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to submit to a extensive search, including a full pat down, emptying pockets and bags, having your items examined and possibly removing your shoes. Narcotics officers and police will be working inside and outside of the event.

We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone.

Safety, Medical & Hydration

The safety of every fan, artist, and staff member is our top priority. Professional medical staff and security will be present throughout the duration of the event. If you, a friend, or another attendee need any assistance, please look for for Medical tents or seek out a staff member.

Weather in Chicago can be tricky, but when you’re moving and dancing for many hours, staying hydrated is absolutely necessary. There are free water fountains located throughout the festival grounds.  Please remember to drink water in intervals throughout the day and take periodic breaks, especially in hot weather.

The CELEBRATE SAFE team will also be present at the fest.  This team of your peers is solely dedicated to the safety, wellness and memorable experience of every attendee.  They will have a direct line to medical and safety staff.  They will be brightly marked and visible.  Please do not hesitate to approach them if you see someone who is in need of attention.

We’re all responsible for everyone’s well-being.  Don’t forget to give back to the community and take care of one another.

Accessable Viewing Areas

Special designated platforms located throughout the festival grounds are reserved for people with disabilities throughout the venue.  Companion seating will be available at designated platform locations.  Please note, companion seating is limited and will be available at a first-come, first-served basis. Swing by our Guest Services/Info booth upon entry for more information on locations and for additional assistance.

Entrance & Egress

Special designated lanes for entrance and egress will be available at the festival.  Special designated lanes will be clearly identified for the convenience of our disabled patrons.

Restroom Facilities

Accessible portable restrooms are available throughout the venue.

Please note, SAMF does not provide personal care assistance, wheelchair push service, or mobility devices for rent so please plan accordingly.
